In a new survey conducted by Gallup, President Barack Obama is doing pretty bad compared with two leading Republican candidates – Rick Perry and Mitt Romney – ahead of next year’s presidential election.
Among registered voters, the president is tied with Texas Governor, Rick Perry, and trails former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, by 2 points. From every indication, most Republicans favour Perry and Romney in a race against Obama, with 92 and 91 percent, saying they would vote for those two candidates. Obama’s approval rating continues to hover around 40 percent - a dangerously low total, according to experts. "This is below the rating that any of the six incumbent presidents re-elected since Eisenhower has had at the time of the presidential election," Gallup writes.
Could this be an indication of what to come for the first Black-American to occupy the White House? Well, maybe things would take a turn for good in the months ahead... time will tell.
