I guess you guys remember Akolade Arowolo, the man who allegedly killed his banker-wife, Titilayo Omozoje, and is being held at the Ikoyi Prison in Lagos? Well, information I scoop from a reliable source is that he attempted to take his own life inside the prison last week by drinking an acidic substance.
It was gathered that sequel to the incident, Akolade was rushed to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, LUTH, where he is still recuperating. Anonymous sources at the hospital confirmed that he indeed ingested a harmful acidic substance.
“From the tests conducted, we discovered that Akolade took a substance with high acidic content. As I am speaking to you, he has just undergone a surgery because his stomach cannot retain solid food. So, we had to pass a tube through it so that he can eat,” said an insider source.
You may wish to know that Akolade is undergoing trial for the alleged murder of late Ttilayo at a Yaba chief magistrate court in Lagos. The next hearing comes up on October 26.
