What exactly is Kelly Hansome up to this time around? If this guy is not accused of jacking a fellow artiste's lyrics or beat, he will be busy 'fighting' those ahead of him in the industry. The gist now is that Kelly Hansome (real names Kelechi Obinna Orji) has hijacked and remixed D'banj's song - I'm Feeling Good.
Mo'Hits records is doing everything possible to make him stop the circulation of the "pirated" song (which is already on the internet) and are also threatening a court action against the artiste and anyone who aides him in perpetrating the fraud. A statement from Mo’ Hits Records read thus...
"Mo’Hits Records Limited has not granted the said rights to Mr. Hansome or to anyone else. Mr. Hansome’s possession and offering of the material at issue is unauthorized, unjustified, inexcusable and downright illegal; the subject of current civil and criminal proceedings.
Do take notice that Mo’Hits Records Limited is the lawful owner of rights to the recorded material (I’m Feeling Good) being touted by one Kelechi Obinna Orji a.k.a. Kelly Hansome or persons acting for him... It shows how slippery the nation’s entertainment sector is. [Please do not] publish, offer, play, copy, post or howsoever treat with the said material if or when it is offered to you."
And since Kelly Hansome is denying any wrong doing, the Don Jazzy led crew has stated that "If that position does not change, Mo’ Hits will be left with no choice than to seek redress in the law court but in the intermission, any third party that does not want to be dragged into this litigation should desist from promoting the work in any form."
The days ahead will tell how far both parties are willing to go with their positions?
