D'banj Shuns 'Channel O Awards' Over Flight Ticket Palaver

Although he's expected to receive two prestigious awards at the 2011 Channel O Awards holding in South Africa today (November 11, 2011), the self-acclaimed Koko Master, D'banj, has boycotted the event. While the likes of Banky W, Tiwa Savage, Wizkid, Choco City boys and several others hurriedly took what was made available to them and landed in South Africa, D'banj and his guys simply stayed back in Nigeria.

I hear they went to the Airport like other groups to board a flight to SA but...
hurriedly left the place as soon as it was discovered that the organisers of the event didn't make provision for a first class ticket for D'banj. Those who know him well say the dude doesn't go below business class and that he viewed the decision to make him fly 'ordinary economy' as an insult. What!

Anyway, the Channel O guys have kind of 'apologize' to our Oliver Twist crooner for the 'mix up', attributing it to the unavailability of a first class ticket when they requested one. Since he wasn't going to be at the venue, I hear they resorted to sending someone to D'banj's residence to record his acceptance speech which will be aired as his acknowledgement of the his two awards.

This D'banj guy sure knows how to make shakara. No be small thing o! Why didn't he just manage the 'economy' and take a seat at the back where other passengers won't see him? I really don't see any sense in his action, unless he didn't actually plan to travel in the first place.
