Hello Ladies today I have one whammy of a post for you.

What's your name and where do you come from?

Alexandra Keller, but I go by Alex originally from Cleveland, Ohio, now living in Tucson, Arizona

Tell us a bit about the real you?

I'm an artist who can be a little obsessive compulsive - I tend to collect lots of things and then I have to clean everything out. This year is a cleaning year!

How long have you been making your designs?

I've made jewelry on and off for years, but opened my Etsy shop March 2009

What are your favourite materials to work with? And where do you source your materials?

I love all sorts of beads and charms, but I'm always looking for more chain! I go to thrift stores, church shops, and resale shops. Sometimes I get donations, which is great! I don't usually go to garage sales or estate sales, because I have a 5 year old son & that's torture for him. On occasion, I'll go to a salvage yard.

Of all your items which is your favourite?

My 'crystal clear' bracelets - recycled watch bands with vintage chandelier crystals. I wear mine almost every day

Where do you get your inspiration from?

Fashion magazines, places I shop, jewellry I see other people wearing

Did this start as a hobby or do you have any formal training?

Previously a hobby, when I opened my etsy shop in 2009, I started a business. I don't have formal jewelry training, but I did attend an art school for several years. While I had enough courses for a degree in fine art, I didn't have the right ones, so I ended up with a degree in business and marketing. (I was double majoring)

Do you have any favourite Etsy shops you buy from?

Shops I've gone back to more than once are

Mudpuppy - I have a baby head planter, a miner's skull (the gold tooth is great!) and I have a couple of little dogs he used to have. Next up are those hanging airplant pods!

Solsticehome - I have a lovely picnic basket, and recently won a gift certificate, so I'm expecting some vintage lab glassware!

And Prance and Swagger for vintage clothes

I love new clothes from Lamixx, and I heart Norwegian wood. And I'm going back here very soon Urban Revisions. Plus you have to see the gorgeous dresses from Kate Towers (I have 2 little party dresses - wish I had known about her sooner)

What can I say? I'm addicted to etsy!

What is your favourite style for this summer?

I'm loving the boho peasant look - gauzy, embroidered blouses and floral skirts. It gets super hot in arizona, so it's perfect!

Whats your dream/plans for the rest of 2011?

To make it a fun, happy & safe year for my family (and survive summer break with the son!)

Not really sure - not a real flower type of girl..... I had white roses at my wedding.
