LATEST UPDATES AS AT 17th OCTOBER...
Spokesman of the agency, Mr. Mitchell Ofoyeju, said:
“Baba Suwe is still in our custody and under observation. Since he was arrested Wednesday, he has excreted twice. First, he excreted on Friday and we did not find any drug and on Saturday he excreted again, still we did not find any drug.
But, it is normal because we would not have arrested him if the scanner did not show that he has something in his system. We have had people who stayed longer before they started excreting; so, we are still observing him. It is just that we are now doing our investigation on this particular suspect on the pages of newspapers.”
After the entire media buzz, it seems Baba Suwe will...
emerge from his current travail as the proverbial cat with nine lives. If pieces of information from top NDLEA operatives at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, are put to the credibility test, the possibility of him coming out of this case unscathed is high.
What am I trying to say? There seem to be a prospect that Baba Suwe’s time is just been wasted unnecessarily by these NDLEA people. About six days after he was taken into custody on the grounds that he allegedly ingested “white substances” suspected to be Cocaine, the anti-drug agency is telling Nigerians that they are still observing him.
