Nigerians to Suffer Electricity Blackout for Seven Days

Gas shortfall, which is being bandied as the bane of steady power supply in Nigeria, has reared its ugly head again. As a result, the 36 State of the federation and Abuja may be thrown into darkness from Tuesday (11th October, 2011). The Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) had on Sunday alerted that five power plants would be shut down for seven days with a view to give enough room for maintenance work to be carried out on the gas plants.

The plants are: Utorogu Ughelli East, Oben, Sapele and Ogharefe... But if you live in one of those areas that don't use to have electricity power before now, then you can as well wish PHCN good luck.
