Stephen Keshi Replaces Siasia as Super Eagles Coach

The technical committee saddled with the responsibility of ascertaining the reason Nigeria did not qualify for the 2012 Nations Cup has recommended the immediate sack of the "stubborn" coach of the Super Eagles, Samson Siasia and replaced by Nigerian-born former coach of the Hawks of Togo, Stephen Keshi in a caretaker capacity.

This is to pave the way for the hiring of a "competent foreign coach" for the Eagles. Insider sources disclosed that Siasia has a...
Four-year contract, which clearly stipulates that he must qualify the Super Eagles to at least the semi-final of the 2012 Nations Cup to remain valid. And since he could not even take the team to the first round of the competition, a top member of the committee reasoned, he has no business remaining in charge.

It’s obvious that this man [Siasia] cannot handle this team,” MTNFootball site quoted a senior technical committee member as saying today... The NFF, headed by Aminu Maigari, is expected to meet anytime soon to ratify the committee's recommendations.

But considering his records with the Togo national team, is Keshi a good replacement for Siasia?
