President Goodluck Jonathan have told his country men and woman to brace up for some level of hardships as he implements his administration's transformation agenda. He gave the charge at the Presidential Villa in Abuja while inaugurating the National Economic Council (NEC) on Monday.
Jonathan stressed that revival of Nigeria's economy remains his priority, and urged State Governors and Chairmen of Local Government Areas to adopt the same attitude. He added that any meaningful transformation or reformation goes with some form of inconveniences, which are temporary.
“Just like anybody who has a tumour, it is better you bear the pains of excising that tumour than to live with it. If you bear the pain and the tumour is removed, you live a normal and better life... Let us all work together and see that we bear this little pain and transform our country so that we have hope for the future generation,” Jonathan counselled.
The NEC comprises Governors, CBN Governor, Attorney General of the Federal, and the Ministers of Finance and National Planning. It is chaired by Vice President Namadi Sambo.
