Lagos, One of the Worst Cities To Live In

If the latest survey conducted by the economic intelligence unit of the Economist Magazine is anything to go by, then one can safely assert that the over 15 million Nigerians who reside and do business in Nigeria’s commercial capital, Lagos, are doing so at grave risk to themselves.

Despite all the efforts of the Babatunde Fashola government in the state, it was ranked as the world's fourth (4th) worst city to live in, the world over. The ranking was reached after an assessment of living conditions in 140 cities around the world using indicators such as: stability, healthcare, environment, education, and infrastructure. The sub-indicators are: availability of quality private and public health care, and prevalence of petty/violent crimes with threat of civil unrest/militancy.

The state ranked 137 in the list of 140 countries surveyed. The worst city to live in the world is Harare, the capital of Zimbabwe... I’m definitely not surprised by the position of Robert Mugabe’s country. But that of Lagos, it seem a little discomforting.
