Product Review - Be Gentle Naked Beauty Hand Wash

Today I bring you another review of one of the items from my Naked Beauty haul.

This time it's the turn of the Be Gentle Starflower Hand Soap. Get the 250ml pump bottle for £3,99

What they say: Starflower is crammed with GLA - an essential fatty acid known to help improve the skin's protective barrier and help combat the signs of ageing. The oil extracted from Starflower seeds is very softening and, because we don't use harsh detergents, your hands shouldn't feel dry and tight after washing - just kitten soft. What I say: The smell on this stuff is freaking amazing. I have no idea what a starflower is, but I would gladly fill my house with them!! It has a slight jasmine and lavender kind of smell, floral with a spicy undertone and it manages to stay with you for quite a while after washing. It's like a real perfume!

Does it work: My hands are feeling mega soft! I keep it in my bathroom so use it all the time and my skin is getting really soft even where it used to be quite hard and you really don't get the harsh feeling you get when using real soap.

Product Review - Ooh La La Naked Beauty Body Wash

Thought it was about time I started reviewing the huge haul I got from Naked Beauty a few months back. If you want to know more about my haul and the brand read the post here.

So first up the Ooh La La Naked Beauty - Coco de Mer Body Wash.

At just £3.99 it is pretty decently priced as it is quite a large bottle.

What they say: This creamy bliss bodywash has an intoxicating fragrance blended with moisturising coconut derivatives and passion flower extract for irresistibly soft, naked skin.

What I say: This truly is "creamy bliss", the smell is amazing but I have found that this is true of most of their products. It also lathers really well meaning you don't need to use much of it, so it has lasted me ages, which is great value for money.

So did it really have the benefits they said: I can't say my skin is really super soft since using it, but my skin is in pretty good condition anyway so I wouldn't really notice a difference. I did smell amazing though, lol!

Will I be buying more: Yes I will! When this bottle runs out (which may be a while) I definitely will be buying another bottle. Plus Jon loved the one I got him so I will have to get them both I think.

Naked Delivery!

Just a quick post ladies as I'm really busy at the moment. I promise to do a proper post soon and get you all up to date on everything. But just thought I would share my awesome delivery that arrived this morning. Thanks to Groupon (if your not a member yet join up asap!) I was able to do a massive shop and get a major discount on Naked Beauty Products. All their products are 97% Natural, not tested on animals and really good for your skin or hair. Bomb Cosmetics review!

Thought I would do a quick review of a new brand of bath bombs I have come across, I think they could even rival Lush! (Blasphemy I'm sure!) I don't often do cosmetic/beauty stuff so I thought you might like a change.

While I was away in Tenby I purchased 2 Bomb Cosmetic Bath bombs. I have only used the one so far and it was Hearts Desire. The shop I bought it from had loads to choose from, but this one was pretty (read: romantic and I was in a mushy mood after talking wedding half the day!) and it smelt great, kinda floral but not overpowering. They were a little bit pricey at £1.99 each but I was in a 'bugger it' kinda mood.

What they say about it: Fragrance of Pomegranate, Lotus Blossom and Black Orchid. Containing Geranium and Ylang Ylang oils and sugar hearts.

Benefits: Moisturising and conditioning skin.

What I say: I decided to use the whole bomb as they are not very big, but I could probably have cut it in half if I wanted to. It fizzed about in a rather satisfying way and released a beautiful scent. I could really smell the Ylang Ylang and the Lotus Blossom, floral and fresh. What I did notice, that worried me a little, was that the bomb seemed to make the water a little oily (on the surface), I assume this was because of the essential oils in it. But when I got in the bath it actually didn't seem that oily at all.

So did it really have the benefits they said: Yes it did! The oil actually made my skin so soft and smooth, my legs were shiny and soft to the touch. I was really happy with the results and my whole body was smooth and smelt lovely afterwards. And luckily the oil didn't leave any marks on my bath, which I thought it might have!

Will I be buying more: Definitely, when I have some spare money to burn on pampering myself.

Im saving the second one, which is the Fruit Bellini Mallow till the night before my wedding so I can relax and pamper myself in a yummy bath! Ill do a nice review of that one after my wedding for you.

Product Review - Bourjois Liner Feutre

Today I am going to do a quick review on the Bourjois Liner Feutre. If you are a regular reader of my blog you will know that I am not really one for make-up but I am slowly expanding my interest. I really love the cats-eye or flicked eye-liner look that has been ever more popular recently. So after trying to do this myself with a liquid eyeliner, and making a slight mess I eventually found the Bourjois Liner Feutre.

This liner has a more substantial tip to it, totally the same as a felt tip pen! So I figured that with my slightly unsteady and unskilled hand I may be better off with this which is a little easier to control.

When I first tried this directly onto my bare lid it did not take very well. It left gaps which I then had to carefully fill in, which was quite difficult to keep it fine, straight and clean. But the second time I decided to use it over my eyeshadow and it went on much smoother. It glided across my lash line very easily and left an even clear line all the way across.

Getting the flick quite right was still a bit fiddly but a hell of a lot easier than it was with the liquid ones. I also applied the Eyeko glitter liner on top to give it a bit more sparkle for my night out.

Overall I think the liner is great when used over a base of some sort. It is also very good value at £5.99. Now I just need some more practice to get this look right!

Eyeko review!

Ok first I just wanna say a quick thanks to Lauren over at Lauren Loves for featuring me on her blog. See her mini interview with me here!

Now on to todays post. As promised a review of some of the Eyeko products. Im not going to do them all in one go as that would probably lead to a totally make-up overload, and I need to ease myself in gently, as I'm not a big make-up girl, lol. So last night I tried out quite a few of the items. The Pop Star Eyes and the Super Star Eyes Line and Shines. The Magic Mascara and the Raspberry Fat Balm. But for today I am just going to do a quick review on the Super Star Eyes Line and Shine Eyeshadow/Eyeliner Pencil.

The Super Star Eyes is on my top lids. I used the Plum to cover my whole lid then the Electric Purple on my lid edge. These are kinda funny to use as it feels a bit like you are colouring in, with crayons! They are a little waxy and don't tend to smudge or blend that well. But they are so bright and pigmented that they really make your eyes pop. I don't use anything as a base but found that they creased really fast. I shall have to try them with some kind of base next time in the hope they won't crease that way. Overall I love the colours but will have to practice with the application to get used to the colouring in technique needed. I do love it as a liner though, I think the Pop Star worked awesome as a liner under my eye so will be using them mostly as liners I think.

Lovely Parcels

This morning I got a lovely parcel full of all my Eyeko beauty products I ordered. Yay! So I bought the following.

Nail Varnish review - Vogue

Just another quick nail varnish review as I'm still in a funny rut at the mo. Although work was kinda fine as it was so quiet and I got to run bar at the salsa class which I like doing, the pub was literally dead all day!

Anyway - update on the last nail varnish. It lasted about 3 days before I chipped it, which ain't bad considering I didn't put any top coat on it.

Yesterday I decided to try out Collection 2000 Hot Looks Colour 13 - Vogue.

It's a dark shimmery blue colour, although looks like a deep Teal in some lights. It is actually much more sparkly than I thought it was going to be and really glitters under direct light. It went on very smoothly and evenly, but still needed 2 coats to get a nice rich colouring. Again the 'Fast Dry' claim was true to form and it did dry completely in around 2 minutes (although I managed to scuff my thumb nail and have to paint it all over again, within those 2 mins! lol!) It is still holding well today, even after working in the pub, but has worn a little on the very edge of my tips. Amazingly it was a perfect match for the blouse I was wearing last night and I hadn't even intended it to be. I don't really match my nails to my outfit unless its a big party or something, so I just paint them whatever shade I fancy!

Nail Varnish review - Shameless

I thought I would do something different today, so I am bringing you a cosmetics review. I'm not really into make-up and cosmetic stuff that much, as you may well have noticed by now. But I do have a draw full of make-up (mostly bought for me by my mother) and a box full of nail varnishes (which I occasionally dig about in when I'm in the mood, today was one of those days) Most of my nail varnishes are really old so I'm not sure you can even buy them anymore but never mind!

So here is my review on Collection 2000 Hot Looks colour 24 - Shameless

I'm often sceptical of the fast dry claims as I have tried many which have not been fast dry, but luckily this one is. It was pretty much completely dry within about 2 minutes, not even tacky, which is great for someone like me who has no patients. I'm the kinda person who forgets she has painted her nails about 30 seconds after doing them and decides to make a cup of tea and so ruins the paint she has just done! Hmm!

Anyway, rambling now. The first coat didn't cover that well as it was a little pale in some areas, but the second coat gave a much better and even coat and made the colour shine alot better. The colour itself is a deep green although when you look at the colour in the bottle it looks as if the paint will have a slight 2 tone effect as it shimmers a slight blue/purple colour, but this does not show up in the paint itself, which was a little annoying. I have no idea how well this will last but I shall update you later in the week as to wether it has a decent staying power or not.

The original cost (cost of all the collection 2000 nail varnishes) is only £1.49. So even if it doesn't hold that well at least it was cheap.

C is for Christian Lacroix - Absynthe

Ok so this might technically not be fashion, but it is made by a designer so I think it will pass (and anyway this is my A to Z so I'm sure I can adjust the rules as I please, lol!)

I Love this stuff. It smells so so nice I shall definitely be buying it when I have some spare money. Plus the advert is very cool. I adore the photo they have used and the stunning lime green dress. It's not usually a colour I would go for but on her it looks great.

The photo was taken by Solve Sundsbo and the model is Vlada Roslyakova. She is beautiful, they chose well I feel. Although she is only 22 she has racked up so major modeling campaigns with high end designers such as: Nina Ricci, Moschino, D&G, Vera Wang Bridal (nice!!), Burberry, Hermes, Miss Sixty, DKNY and Karl Lagerfeld to name just a few. She is also Lacroix's current muse. But she was listed as one of the seriously underweight models who could be banned from Milan fashion Week. luckily I don't think she looks too skinny in these photos because of the huge flowing dress.

There is also a mens version which I actually think is nicer than the womens. Its not over powering like a lot of mens aftershaves and I would so wear it! Plus the bottles are nice too!

And here is the man himself. His fashion is always a little off the wall but I do tend to like certain pieces of his outfits. Plus he is very well know to anyone who is an Ab Fab fan as 'Eddie' loves Lacroix!! Lol. If you have seen any episodes you'll know what I mean!

Oh and here is the TV advert for you. I love that too, so sexy!
