Happy Birthday to Donna Reed, one of my favorite actresses. She appeared is such classics as It's A Wonderful Life, From Here To Eternity, The Courtship Of Andy Hardy, They Were Expendable and lots more. And of course she was the star in her famous long running comedy series, The Donna Reed Show. Happy Birthday Donna!

This title refers to the need for a guardian angel like Clarence from It's A Wonderful Life.

Everything about It's A Wonderful Life has already been said. All I can say is that it is one of the most magical movies ever. You all probably know the plot (if not, click here), and know that it stars James Stewart, Donna Reed and Lionel Barrymore. Comment if you are annoyed that they colourized it. It's not natural! Donna Reed films tonight on TCM May 12th

Three solid films featuring TCM's star of the month Donna Reed airs tonight. Beginning at 8pm EST. The night begins with the classic film The Picture of Dorian Gray, with Donna giving a superb performance. Next up is The Last Time I Saw Paris with headliner Liz Taylor. And around midnight is Green Dolphin Street, co-starring the always entertaining Lana Turner. My viewing night is set. Hope everyone else can catch at least one film of Ms. Reed. Hey Dawn, if you watch some of her films this month, maybe we can discuss them next month when you guest on my blog.

TCM: Star of the Month of May: Donna Reed.

Donna Reed, received the 1953 Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance as Lorene, a prostitute, in From Here to Eternity.

Donna Reed, also received the 1963 Golden Globe Award for Best TV Star, for her performance as Donna Stone, a middle class wife and mother, in The Donna Reed Show.



In 1984, she replaced Barbara Bel Geddes as Miss Ellie in Dallas.
