Javier Bardem is the Latest Bond Bad Guy

James Bond, Javier Bardem, Daniel Craig, Eat Pray Love, No Country for Old Men, Bardem, Joe Don Baker, Jonathan Pryce

Javier Bardem has officially confirmed that he'll be the bad guy in the new James Bond film, which is right now just known as "Bond 23."

"I am very excited," Bardem says "My parents took me to watch the movies and I saw all of them. So to plat that is going to be fun."

If bond movies are only as good as their villains, then having someone of Bardem's stature certainly can't hurt. In fact, in some ways he's a real change of pace from your usual Bond baddie. It's been 50 years since the first James Bond film, Dr. No, debuted, and over the course of the series the movies villains have mostly been played by character actors. Donald Pleasence, Christopher Lee, Joe Don Baker, Jonathan Pryce.

In other words, as great as these actors are, they are not people whose marquee value could possibly outshine the guy who's actually playing Bond.

And while Bardem doesn't have the star power of Daniel Craig, he's definitely someone that audiences recognize who's started developing a commercial track record of his own with hits like "Eat Pray Love" and "No Country for Old Men."

And unlike a lot of Bond villains, he's got an Oscar.

Beware of These Woman: Fiona Volpe.

I think everyone has their favorite "Bond Bad Girl". She either starts off "bad" and goes "good," or she starts off "really bad" and ends up "really dead." For Monty's "Beware of These Woman" series. One of my favorite "Bond Bad Girls" is:

Fiona Volpe, who is played by Luciana Paluzzi, "Bad girl" character in the James Bond film, Thunderball(1965). Where she played the part of a assassin in SPECTRE's execution branch, Volpe is one of NATO pilot Major Francois Derval’s mistress, who is part of the plan to steal the Vulcan and two atomic bombs, which SPECTRE plans to use to blackmail the world. She plans Derval’s murder and destroys Lippe's car, with a missile launcher built into her motorcycle. Volpe, then pushes her motorcycle into a pond, to hide the evidence.

Bond meets Volpe, while hitchhiking in Nassau, and she catches his interest with her fast driving car. Later Fiona, captures agent Paula Caplan, but Caplan commits suicide by taking cyanide before sharing any information. Meanwhile, Fiona waits for Bond in his bathtub and seduces him. While dressing for the Junkanoo, Volpe lets in Vargas and his henchmen to hold Bond captive. It does not take long before Bond escapes running through the crowds, but.. the killers are not far behind. Volpe walks up to Bond, dancing with another woman. Assuming Volpe is his wife, the woman leaves and they begin slow-dancing, while one of the henchmen hides behind a curtain and aims a gun. Bond sees him and spins Volpe around, which hits her in the back and kills her. Leaving Volpe's lifeless body in a chair with another couple says,("Would you look after my friend? She's just dead!").

Luciana Paluzzi (born June 10, 1937 in Rome, Italy). Paluzzi's very first film was an uncredited part in, Three Coins in the Fountain (1954). In her early films, she is credited as Luciana Paoluzzi.

Bond, fans will always remember her best as the villainess she played in Thunderball. Paluzzi, first auditioned for the part of the lead Bond girl, Dominetta "Domino" Palazzi. The producers eventually cast a former Miss France, Claudine Auger, changing the Domino character from an Italian to a Frenchwoman and renaming her Dominique Derval. Heartbroken, when she learned she did not get the part, but.. the disappointment was short lived when she learned she landed the part of the "bad girl", Fiona Volpe, which she said was "more fun to play".

She was also second female lead in the Frankie Avalon and Annette Funicello comedy, Muscle Beach Party (1964) and played the love interest in the western, Chuka(1967). She also was the female lead in the science fiction film, The Green Slime(1968). In 1975, Paluzzi acted with fellow Bond girl Ursula Andress in the film, The Sensuous Nurse.

SHERLOCK HOLMES

Photobucket

Is Robert Downey Jr. on a roll or what? After the success of Iron Man, he followed it up with Tropic Thunder and now this. The latest Sherlock Holmes movie, i would say again that Robert Downey Jr. played Sherlock Holmes nicely. Not to mention his friend and sidekick Dr. Watson played by Jude Law, the chemistry of the two was great. Their constant verbal quarrel gives viewers a laugh.

When watching i just cant help but compare it to a James Bond movie or a Mission Impossible with some great fight scenes with Holmes. Of course what i like about all Sherlock Holmes movies is part where Holmes would explain everything to uncover the mystery of what just happened. And i just cant wait for the next movie to be shown, cause there will be a next one cause another enemy is lurking from the dark. I just hope they can still get Downey and Law to play their respective characters.

Don't hesitate to watch this movie.

ZACH TASTE LIKE A CUPCAKE

Megan Fox, star of the movie "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen". She said in a recent interview at the convention on Thursday that they wouldn't be disappointed with this fall's "Jennifer's Body."

"I think this is the perfect fan base," she said. "It's a horror movie, it's a comedy, there's lot of blood, there's lot's of gore, there's lot of lesbian kissing. There's everything you could possibly hope for in one movie."

And while her character, a girl possessed by a demon is a literal man-eater, Megan said there's one real life guy she'd like to bite into.

"Zac Efron," she said. "I think he'd taste like a strawberry cupcake."

While she's got plenty of projects on her plate, she stars alongside Josh Brolin in the upcoming "Jonah Hex", which also did press at the convention- she weighed in rumors that she'd turned down a role in the next James Bond film.

"I would never pass on a franchise like that," she said, confirming the rumors was a false report . "Those are legendary, iconic movies. That's obviously something I would love to do."
